Mala Charred Cabbage w/ Yogurt

We love so many things about this dish: it’s simple to make, it’s made of all veggies, and features an unexpected flavor combo that somehow just works.

Ingredients:

2 Tbsp

1/2 cup mayo

2 cabbage
quarters

1/3 cup chives, finely chopped

1/4 cup greek yogurt

1/4 red onion, diced

juice of
1/2 lemon

1/4 cup parsely, finely chopped

Instructions:

1 clove, grated

chili crisp

Mala spice

Melt butter over med-high heat in a pan. Once it’s foaming, add in your cabbage.

1.

Cook until the bottom is a deep brown color, then flip to the other side. Now season generously with salt and the Mala spice mix.

2.

When both sides are charred and the cabbage has softened, set aside and rest.

3.

In a bowl, combine the mayo, yogurt, lemon juice, 1/2 the chives, parsely, red onion, and garlic and combine. Salt & pep to taste.

4.

Now plate by creating a bed of your yogurt sauce, then placing the cabbage on top.

5.

Garnish with a generous amount of chili crisp, more chives, and a squeeze of lemon juice.

6.

Notes: We highly recommend using the FBJ Mala spice mix, but cumin can work as a quick substitute.
